Hi
Welcome to Geraldineyoga.com.
My name is Geraldine McGowan, I teach yoga to children between 2½ to 7 years (www.yogabugs.com). Classes are on Sunday's 1pm till 2pm for the younger group (2½ to 4 years) and 2pm till 3pm for the older kids (5 to 7 years) in the East End Healthy Living Centre (www.eehlc.org.uk).
Come autumn 2008 I will have adult classes running in and around Glasgow.
Adult classes will cover:
- beginners Ashtanga style leading onto Ashtanga Vinyasa flow
- complete beginners to exercise, (building confidence, experience) leading into to seasonal flow yoga
- General Hatha class encorporating aspects of Yin yoga
Ashtanga Vinyasa flow is a dynamic form of yoga synchronising breath and movement leading to a cleansed body and improved overall fitness.
Seasonal flow yoga balances the body and mind in accordance with the time of year and the different demands on us throughout the year
Hatha is the most recognisable form of yoga practised in the west. Typically done in the Sivananda style, it focuses on individual postures as opposed to a flowing class. It is generally undertaken at a relatively slow pace.
Yin yoga does postures with the muscles relaxed and held for a long time.
